WORKING FROM HOME TODAY due to clemency from a day in the office thanks to inclement weather. That is, a snow storm that so far has meant only steady snow, but later today has been forecast to deliver up to 10 inches of snow, potent winds, and wind chills of -10 or colder.
Four years ago, Baltimore was slammed by a pair of blizzards, the second hitting only a couple of days after the first. Between storms I made it into my editorial office for a few hours. On the drive home from that foray, the snow from the second blizzard was just beginning to fall when I pulled off the road to make this picture. That tree no longer lives; two years ago a fierce wind storm toppled it.
