SUPERSIZED WINTER STORMS complicate my professional life and remind me that my back is no longer young and elastic. But once the roads have been plowed, the meteorological conditions do provide opportunity for a photographer. I had a hunch that if I could get out to the horse farms near my home, there were pictures to be made. Finding a place to pull over and leave the car was a challenge, but for this one I just stopped near an intersection on a little-traveled road, put on my emergency flashers, and stumbled through knee-high snow to get a proper vantage. I like the results.
